Manticrabs
The nemesis of the planet, their driving purpose is to consume all life as they have an unsatisfiable hunger that incapacitates their ability to think coherently.
The planet used to have to fend for itself against them, but when the Highlionds arrived and joined in fighting them off, the planet was grateful.
Highlionds now collect the Manticrab's shell and use it as currency, called MantiChitin (MC).
It holds value, since they can be offered at temples for Blessings.

Their jaws are unhingeable and they can bulge out their throats.
They have no genitalia.
Anything that they can't dissolve in their stomach acid, they simply throw up.
The hole in their tongue connects to their stomachs and allows them to spit out their digestive acid.
The spines coming out of their fluff are actually quills and can stick into prey, giving off a scent that they can track exceedingly well.
The front teeth are just for holding their prey or chomping up vegetation.
The mandibles inside of their throat carve up whatever they're trying to eat.
Surprisingly, they will form packs with each other, though if they can't find enough food they've been known to eat each other.
Generally brightly colored and those that are dark colors tend to have some sort of bright streak in them.
