Citizens of Aban'Daster are known as Abanesian.
Resident Legend: Sylar, the Molten
Most of Aban'Daster's culture resides underground, where lava tunnels have been carved through. The caves are filled with life and bioluminescent critters that thrive off of the high nutrients the lava has left behind. The central sands of the continent, however, are so finely grained, that touching it feels akin to water and you can sink 20 feet before feeling resistance. It's also constantly shifting in landscape, with the sand dunes raising up and down with the winds causing oasis' to come and go.
Due to the difficulty of traversing this continent, each area created its own system of leadership, generally centered around the one with the most wealth and power. Then, every year, the leaders travel to No'Vim to meet and pay dividends to Sylar, who can control the lava flows and prevent the collapse of the caverns or keep the volcanoes from erupting.
